A Chapter of My Life in Bengaluru

I went from Bangalore to Bengaluru in six months of my stay in the city. And I have realized that Bengaluru is more than just the IT hub of India or Silicon Valley of India. To me, it is a beautiful garden city filled with pleasant weather, peaceful surroundings, and the sparkle of its rich culture.

I spent six months in Bangalore due to my husband’s job, and since I was not working at that time, I had plenty of time to explore the city. I visited most of the famous tourist attractions and also had the privilege of living in a rented apartment in a gated community, so it was a win-win situation for me.

It was my first experience of living in a new city in South India. Since I am from North India, everything felt different and exciting—from the culture and language to the authentic food. It was a completely new experience that allowed me to embrace a different way of life.

‘Namma Bengaluru’ has become an emotion for me. Fresh mornings begin with a cool breeze, the aroma of hot filter kaapi, and a light, wholesome breakfast of idli, sambar, and dosa. Bengaluru truly has it all—world-class tech parks, high-rise buildings, a buzzing nightlife, and lush green spaces like Cubbon Park and Lalbagh Botanical Garden. Add to that its serene lakes and the kind of pleasant weather that lets you enjoy a walk even at 2 or 3 PM.

Lalbagh is one of the major attractions of Bangalore. Its 240 acre garden is situated in the heart of the city. It has the largest collection of tropical plants including several trees that are centuries old. It has a beautiful lake in the southern part, a famous and very old glass house, bonsai garden area and large rock.

Iskon Temple

This was the first place we visited in the city. It was quite far from where we were staying, so we travelled there on a two-wheeler. That was also the day we truly experienced Bengaluru's famous traffic for the first time. Despite the long commute, the visit was worth it. The temple's peaceful atmosphere, beautiful architecture, and spiritual ambience made it a memorable experience and a wonderful introduction to the city.
